ENERGIHØJSKOLEN

RISØ-PARK

The International Green Academy

Background

The battle in the public as to whether the climate change is real or not is over.

Globally, governments and industries are investing resources and billions of dollars in solutions that will solve the growing problems we are all facing on our planet.

New industries, educations, public and private institutions are being established. This opens doors for innovative people with new ideas and a desire to play an active role in finding solutions to the problems.

But the major power behind the effort to save the environment needs to come from us, the people. We need to be educated about the issues that will have a major impact on our daily life.

More than hundred years ago, the danish inventor, humanist and teacher Poul La Cour made a major contribution as a pioneer in windmill technology at the Askov Folk High School.

Its now the time for this danish institution to get involved again; this time to ensure that the population increases its knowledge about the climate, sustainable energy and the environment.

This is the background for the initiative to start Energihøjskolen in Denmark, which will play an active role in the educational and informational process and thereby involve the population in a common effort to save the planet for future generations.
